I used the Mr. Clean magic eraser it took the green fabric stain of it was on my new expensive machine . I love it ,it worked great

Use Bar Keepers Friend on a soft damp cloth. It doesn't scratch anything. I even use it to clean my stainless steel cookware. You eill find it in the aisle with Comet and Brillo pads.

I agree with Sewnoma. If the color rubs off on your sewing machine what will happen if it gets thrown over the back of a couch? If it gets sat on?

20 years ago I made school uniforms. They were navy blue. I still have a blue line from the thread. I thought at the time it would eventually go away. It never has. I'm going to try the mr clean eraser. I hadn't thought of that.

Mr. clean did not remove my thread line. Oh well, doesn't affect my other sewing. It gives my old Bernina distinction.

Hand sanitizer may work also. Mix of a little lotion and alcohol. Just try a little drop on a cotton ball. I use hand sanitizer to take ink out. DH has it at work and ink got on his shirt. took it right out.

Another reason to prewash fabric. I would be very upset if my thread bled!

DO NOT USE THE MAGIC ERASER. It is a microabrasion sponge,.....it does scratch plastic. I used it in a Tervis tumbler...drink tea in it all the time.....after a while the tumbler was cloudy looking....it was the microabrasion ont he plastic. I am now very careful where and on what I use Mr. Clean sponge on. It takes off the mark, but also takes of a micro portion of what you are cleaning. I use Carnuba wax from the auto parts store on my machines....makes them slippery too for FMQ....this wax would keep dyes from rubbing off on your machine. Janome recommends a damp cloth to clean with a mild detergent if needed. Any cleaning product should be followed by a wax.,....even using alcohol...follow with a wax.
