I'm glad I could help. There are a few advantages to being a math nerd!

Yelp! Those Math and Plan G classes really come in handy when designing quilt blocks; especially when it can save a significant amount of money.

This pattern was done as a Block of the Month at Quilted Threads and they too still sell the pattern. Mine is almost done but my sashing which is made up of 1" finished squares was not right and I have pulled it all out- lol - or I would share a picture. It is a stunning quilt when done. Ours was done in all the Japanese Taupes ans is subtle but amazing.

Oh - just to add a note here - After the first month, I resorted to paper piecing the 6" block part as they were intricate and what I considered the "star of the show".

The pattern was featured in Quilt Mania a year or so ago. I think it was spread over at least 2 issues. It is a French magazine that cost about $15 for an English version. So $33 is not bad for the whole thing. Good luck with it. I've been planning to do it for a while now, but somehow life gets in the way.

I am so impressed! Justwannaquilt seem like you had the answer at the tip of your fingertips! I spend hours (ok maybe just 1 hour) looking for patterns or pics I need.

That is one beautiful quilt. The price for buying the pattern is expensive but not for what you get. If you design your own, you can use any 6" insert block you like; you can even use a different house pattern, although as a single block in a gift quilt, you may want to stick closely to the original. Whatever you decide, please share a photo of the completed block. From what I've seen so far, it will be stunning. Joyce in Delaware

check out Bee in My Bonnet. http://www.beeinmybonnetco.blogspot....-tutorial.html She has barn blocks, also look for the barn with the silo. I made 5 barn blocks and am going to do a red work tractor block for a wall hanging.
