Am I just a little bit 'cuckoo'?

I totally understand!!! But what I'm doing is taking a picture and printing it out to be saved in a three-ring binder. That way I can always look back. Simple IPhone shot and printed to plain paper. Nice memories of hard work being loved elsewhere.

Your feelings are very 'normal'. We have all been in this place. It is apparent that you are hooked on being a quilter. I recommend that you not only take a picture for us to see but that you start an album of your work-for you. You can include the finished quilts and what you do with them; or, you can take lots of pictures along the process of making the quilt and make it into a visual journal. I love to give quilts away! My son and daughter-in-law have the first quilt I made hanging on their guest room (office)wall. It was made 47 years ago for that son. I smile every time I see it-it shows me how much I have learned along the way. Please enjoy giving your Kylie gift.

No you are not cuckoo. I have a hard time parting with all of my quilts. They are like my babies, I totally understand. I have some that I have made for donation from fabric that was given to me that I have a hard time giving away. Even some of the quilts I don't particularly like.
Start a photo album and keep a picture of all of your quilts. You will be amazed at the progression of your skills and how your choice of colors and fabrics change as you go along. The fabric that I bought when I first started I now consider to be my "ugly" fabric. We all totally understand.

After spending so much time on our quilts, it's normal for some of them to become very special to us and hard to see go, you are not alone, however, you get to go visit your new DGD and her quilt frequently. I don't know if this is your first grandchild or not, but holding that little wonder in your arms is a life changing moment to be cherished.
