I love your blocks and you did such a beautiful job on them. Love to read the story along with the blocks. I have that book and have been thinking about making that quilt with civil war fabric which I have been collecting for about 2 years. There is an excellent book on this topic : Hidden in Plain View, a Secret History of Quilts and the Underground Railroad. authors are Jacqueline L. Tobin and Raymond G. Dobard. The paperback edition came out in 1999. With illustrations and family history of collections and recollections of descendants....

I have made several of these quilts and enjoy the "story". I learned a tremendous amount while doing these blocks from the book by Eleanor Burns and Sue Bouchard. My accuracy in piecing was pretty good but got so much better. Beautiful blocks and colors very similar to what I used.
