I still have some of the older "good" stuff left -- but it will be nice to have it available again!

Was so glad to hear that! I used the last of mine this week. It was old and I was afraid that it would not work; but it worked perfectly. I love using Lite Steam a Seam2.

I was in the dark also, not being American, but found this website which explains things.

http://www.warmcompany.com/saspage.html

Similar to double sided iron-on Vliesofix, only tacky as well, (to reposition ) for applique-ing and hemming. Ironing makes it permanent.

I may sound ignorant, but what is purpose for Steam A Seam? Why do people buy this in quantity? Thank you for your explanation. i appreciate everything I am daily learning here.

I am glad to hear it's back. Just went to their website and it says it will be available 4 weeks from Aug 21 (last update posted), so hopefully around the end of Sept.

Used to cut out fabric pieces used in applique. Trace the piece onto the Steam A Seam and then cut the pieces apart and when the paper from one side is removed the piece can be placed on the fabric and the stickiness holds it in place so you can do a finer cut around the fabric--remove the paper from the other side and the fabric piece adheres to the larger piece of fabric to create the applique to stitch around. Hope this makes sense.

The huge benefit of Steam a Seam over other fusibles like Wonder Under and Heat n Bond is the stickiness. You can play your applique shapes perfectly before ironing them on.

Steam A Seam 2 has been my go to. I'm still working with some bought a couple of year's ago at JAF. Can't wait to get the new stuff.

Can someone tell me the difference between the regular Steam A Seam, Steam A Seam 2 and Steam A Seam Lite? I use "2" so I know how it works. From reading the website, the original Steam A Seam only has paper on one side. But what is the Lite version? Saw this recently at JAF, but didn't have time to really look at it. The website doesn't mention this product at all.

Thanks!
