Looks almost like stained glass. Love the cat. Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Regarding scraps: I think there is "a lady" who comes into our sewing area and creates them. I, too, have a continuous collection of scraps and the basket never seems to diminish. OR perhaps when scraps hit the basket, there is a command that they must multiply. We really need to investigate this problem.

My scraps for Quilts of Valor was out of hand and all (6) of my recent QOVs have been scrappers. And the collection is still strong. Must be "that lady" again! -- I think she also goes into my closet and takes in the waist of all of my pants. Boy, if I ever catch her . . . . .

Is there any way to use up all the scraps? I've tried for years but there always seems to be more left over than what I started with. It's a good thing my favorite quilts are scrappy ones.
Just recently finished a few more. Will post pics of some of them.

I do think scraps breed when we are not looking. About 5 years ago, I went through 6 boxes of scraps, trimming off the unusable bits, cutting the rest into standard sizes, like squares of 2.5, 3.5, 5 and 6", all sorted and compressed into quart or gallon baggies. I ended with half a box of baggies. I shipped several envelopes off to friends and made a bunch of 4 patches and 3 D bow ties. Several scrappy quilts later, that bunch is all gone, mainly to foster kids. IMHO, once they are a bit organized, they tend to be used. One of my fav old fashioned blocks is called vestibule. It takes 4 pieces: 2 of 2.5x5.5, one square each of 2.5" and 5.5. That simple uneven 4 patch eats up scraps like crazy. Sometimes, I use a fussy cut piece for the 5.5" square.
