We work on our own quilts there, no guild.
just a bunch of women that meet every wednesday from about 9 or 10 am to around 1 or 2pm. nice bunch of women..I used to be the baby of the group at 52..then my SIL started going..she is younger than me..lol! we have a couple seasonal women..they are in florida for the winter..lucky !

it costs $2.00 everytime you come..that alone is worth using the big tables to pin the quilts.
we have 2 extra machines,in case someone needs to use them.
we do have a few cutting boards,2 irons/boards,a few long rulers and a box of community items..Tape,scissors for cutting batting, extensions cords..etc. it is nice not to have to haul our own boards or other stuff...
Sometimes we pick a place to go eat lunch..
i look forward to wednesdays..it is my "night out"!

I have some embroidery blocks that were handed down to me from a quilt guild I used to belong to. My mom had finished the embroidery blocks. And I have made a quilt top from them.I have one more border to put on it.After adding the last border it will be close to king size. And I have been wondering how in the world I was would ever going to get this quilt pinned. I had thought of getting it machine quilted but one quilt shop wanted $400 to $500 to quilted it.So That's why am thinking of penning it and trying to hand quilt it as there is no hurry to getting it done. With the ongoing nerve problem with the right hand it will take me a while. to quilt it.
The embroidery work is done with teal color embroidery thread. And I have used a teal color print fabric for the borders around the quilt top.
