I use Mr Clean's Magic Eraser -it cleans the thread snippets and helps smooth it out. But a dryer sheet wadded up will also pull out the snippets

Egads! You can use a Scotch-Brite sponge with the fiber part which will pull the threads out of the mat without doing any damage. Smart woman to check before buying, you are to be congratulated. I love Nancy's, but come on...

I'm w you! scotch-brite works just as well, if not better. and its so much cheaper if you to the dollar store.

Thanks so much for all the excellent hints on cleaning the mat. I've now got some ideas that don't require money spent and I especially love the Scotch Brite hint since I have one under my kitchen sink.

I use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down my mat. Works for me. I also use the Swiffer cloths and Mr. Clean Eraser if I get it dirty. After cutting, I use the Swiffer cloths immediately. Those are great for picking up little threads and pieces of lint. When using spray starch or any kind of spray, I try to wipe that up immediately. I try to remember to cover my surfaces when using any sprays at all. I have couple pieces of vinyl I use. I hate to have to clean all the time so I'd rather cover my bases so to speak.

I have one. Who knows where I got it, but I'm sure I didn't pay that much. It's kinda rubbery, and a tad bumpy. You rub it on the mat and it picks the fuzz, lint, etc from the tiny smudges of cuts in your board. Really works great.

I got one of these and I would not waste your money on one. Tried it and it is not very good. You could get just as much help by using an old credit card. I personally use one of the scrubby cloths and after wiping it down, I run a lint roller over it to pick up anything that may have been left behind. My personal opinion anyway.

got one of these with a new mat out of recycled material. I have a flat pot scrubber from dollar store that would work the same way.
