http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t221305.html This is an easy block that goes together fast. Here's a link for the De Novo pattern http://www.benartex.com/page/tempo-351.htm . I modified the measurements to 6.5 squares and 2.5 width rectangles. I cut mine from fat quarters and yardage but you could use jelly rolls for the rectangles and honey buns for the sashing.

There are many patterns, you can make 9 patches and put them in sashings singly or make groups and sash, looks nice or just cut plain colors and make a patch quilt. Your iminagination is your only limit.

Google Peg Sradin. She did a great method on Youtube about Fold and stitch. Interesting.

I've used 6 1/2" squares many times. For a simple design, alternate them with 4-patches or pinwheels. This is a crib quilt I made for my niece. The focus fabric was 1 yard cut for the 6 1/2" squares and the outer border.

Thanks for your suggestions.
There are millions of patterns using HST. Pick one!

You could use them on a puff/Biscuit quilt by using them as the top square, and making the bottom square 5.5 inches. I will post a picture of the one I made, but recently I saw one that had buttons sewed to the center of each puff. Next one so going to have buttons too! This puff quilt was a request by DH for a really warm quilt. It hangs down to the dust ruffle on my Queen bed, is backed with a heavy flannel sheet, and weighs 7lbs! Never tell me you are cold, I will fix it! Good luck with whatever pattern you chose.

Thanks to all who responded. Now I have so many options, I just need to decide which one to start with. You quilters are the best!
