Default fabric: Alice's Garden by Marti Michell

I bought a panel at Hancock Fabrics years ago. Now I want to make it into a Roosting Robin quilt. So, am trying to think of fabrics to go with the panel. I am attaching a pic of the panel, and a link to the only mention I found of the fabric line. The panel has the name and said it is exclusively made for Hancock Fabrics 2008. So, I wondered, has anyone made a quilt with these fabrics? Did you use the panel? Can you show what the other fabrics in the line were like? What did you make? Thanks. Oh, here is the link, which shows a jelly roll. https://www.etsy.com/listing/3725593...michell-fabric

I had not seen this panel before because there isn't a Hancock in my area.

That is a great panel - you don't have to use the fabrics in that line, just choose others in the same colors

Many times there is a color test printed on the selvedge alongside the name/manufacturer. This makes it very easy to choose complimentary fabrics. Take the panel shopping with you and match the colors printed in the selvedge. Nobody will be able to tell that the other fabrics weren't in that original line of fabric.

    ^^^ What Peckish said...

You can make up your own set with other fabrics that go with it. Doesn't need to be from the same original line.

Marti might have some of the matching fabrics. You can write to marti @ frommarti.com

She made a real quilt that's similar to the panel you have. I thought you might enjoy seeing it! The yellow is wall color, not part of the quilt.

I looked thru our magazines and the pattern for the green quilt is in the Nov. 2012 and Jan. 2013 issues of APQ, if you have them.
