I have a huge coffee cup that came with a flower arrangement to catch my sewing scraps that works great for me. Your thread catcher does look very nice. I can just see my cat making a game of catching the part hanging down on those. Lol!

I bought two of these at a LQS and then I made several of these or fiends and family by just
looking at the ones I bought. I did use rice in mine for the pin cushion part. They are really handy.

I use a piece of batting when I'm clipping all the strings off my quilt, I seen this idea on this Board. It works great and you just grab the strings off the batting piece with your fingers & throw it away (in My case the dog bed stuffing basket I have on the floor)
