Default May I see you I spy quilts and block sizes?

Ok I know there's beautiful threads of I spy quilts out there on the board, but I'm having trouble visualizing the proportions of the quilts . . . . So if I could get folks to share photos of their quilts and also post the general size of the blocks and finished quilt (ex crib sized quilt with 5" squares) that would be really helpful when I start designing my own next week.

I just quilted two for 2 ladies ...they worked on them together but they were slightly different sizes...around 60 by 80...one had 5 inch squares and one had 3inch ish...both had black 1/2 borders between the blocks...they were adorable...one had a border with the words I SPY appliquéd on the border in canary yellow....the other lady decided to add the I SPY words onto the the back as it had a border ...I can't believe I didn't take a pic...

I just saw a lady working on one at a quilt retreat using disappearing 9 patch pattern! It looked really neat!

All my I spy's I keep the squares 5". Some I make pinwheels with, and one I just laid it out dif, since it was for a boy. Don't remember the sizes, but they can be as big or as small as you want them.

This site shows you how to make the D9P I Spy. I think it's great.

http://obsessivelystitching.blogspot...ring-nine.html

Also, if you go to the top of the page you can search I spy quilts here on the board. Everything from photos to ideas to sizes to a tutorial. You can use any size blocks you want and make it as large or small as you want depending on the what you think the appropriate size is for the person who will receive it.
I always use 5" squares from the swaps here on the board. Mine are usually about 40-45" wide and 50-55" long as I make them for toddlers mostly.

I have made a rag quilt as an I spy quilt. It was for a 4 year old boy and I did each block about 8 inches.

I did one with 9-3/4 inch squares (why that size you ask? - because we had a 10 inch square exchange - and some of the ladies cut skimpy!!! - and I didn't realize that there was a 9-1/2 inch square ruler available at the time) -
5 squares wide x 7 squares long with a five or six inch border.

It finished at approximately 56 x 74 inches I used warm and Natural batting, brushed arnel for the border and back,
and cotton t-shirt knit fabric for the binding.

Sorry - can't find a picture of it - but it is THE favorite couch cover at my daughter's home!
