I love this board. This board taught me how to quilt and so much more....recipes, contacts an I love talking to people all over the world plus it's free! I recently had a glitch on my computer and could not log on for 2 days! Oh how I missed this board on those days. I was afraid I was going to lose my connections and saved articles but all is good now! Fixed the glitch and all info still saved. I also I feel like I know so many of you.. And I treasure each and everyone on this board. I have never been disappointed on this board.... This is the best guild ever., thank you all!

I, too, feel like this is my guild. I have belonged to a local guild for 2 years, but will not be renewing my membership come Jan. I have never felt welcomed. The final straw came when I saw another member whom I have spoken to many times at meetings out shopping. I went up to her to say "hi" and she didn't have a clue who I was. I gave her my name and mentioned the guild. She still didn't have a clue!

I feel the same. My only question is, where are the refreshments?

So sorry you felt unwelcome at a quilt guild. I've found quilters to be interesting and wonderful people, but from what has been posted on this site in the past, there are some who become Quiltzilla's.

Don't be discouraged. There are many groups out there. Most lqs have sit and sew days and churches have charity sews. Join and enjoy. (The quilters on this site are wonderful though!!!!)

I have learned so much more from this board than a guild that I was a member of for 3 years. No boring meetings, clicks so much good fellowship. Someone is always ready to help when needed.

Yes, Yes and Yes!! I agree with all the comments made - this is the best board going! I have learned so much from many different members here and love how creative and encouraging everyone is!! I belong to 2 local guilds but as far as support and creative energy, the members here are so much better!!

Well, I just read the rest of the posts here and agree with all of them not only Gramma and KQ. I've never belonged to a guild in my area so I can't comment on them.

I learn so much from this board every time I'm on it. Too many perfectionists at the last guild I was invited to join and talk about negativity and tension. I prefer doing things on my own time and don't mind being corrected and directed to with out having a finger stuck in my face. Might get broken!
