But you say is is not even a sewing machine? True, but is is made by Singer and it is cool, I have the other one, and I can use it.....
But you say they are expensive? True but I "made offer" at $50 expecting a long haggling session, they accepted!

So you see it's not my fault.... Never is....

    Hi Steve,

Next you'll be looking for the Civil War Surgeon's kit. The horror......but still sewing of a sort.

if you find one made by a sewing machine manufacturer, you betcha I would!!!

The cool thing about this one is that it came with a small compartment with a few of the really rare tiny "eye surgery" and "plastic surgery" needles.

Believe me, I ain't gonna look for no "sawing machines". What does your Singer use for thread? I had stitches once and believe it was some type of wire which I suppose was somehow kept sterile.

It uses standard suture materials (Silk, cotton, linen/cotton, catgut, nylon, up to modern Poliglycan)

Minnesota machine-I really like this one.

I am restoring a kenmore 117-580 (the one you refer to as "ugly"). Do you still have this? I am looking for the buttonholer. Do you happen to have a picture of the buttonholer? Thank you for any help.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I like that style of machine.
No pictures but the Kenmore was made by White. Any buttonholers made to fit the old White Rotaries will work. They use a top clamp style foot. With most buttonholers for White made machines you need to take the top clamp completely off the presser bar then install the buttonholer.
    I hope this helps,

I love that Kenmore. You dissed my brand. I'm sad now.

I finally thought to take a pic of my Lotus handcrank. Been a busy couple of weeks in sewing machine collector world.
