    I always prewash the flannel I use for a quilt back. Didn't use to, but then I saw the difference in the shrinkage, so now I do.

    I seldom use flannel but yes, it is best to pre-wash it since it will shrink more than cotton.

    I agree. Always wash the flannel before using. Flannel is the only fabric I will consistently wash before using, due to the shrinkage.

    I prewash everything in hot water. And throw in hot dryer. I do let it rest a bit before taking the iron to it.

    I am not normally a prewasher. The only fabric I prewash is flannel. In hot water and then I put it in the dryer. Flannel sometimes shrinks a lot and uneven.
