Ha! Actually, Hot Rod normally is right there, in the back half of my chair as I sew. He is a true quilt inspector, being involved every step of the way. Sometimes he takes 3/4 of the chair. I don't mind.

No, it isn't hard to do. It does take some studying of the instructions, but once I understood those, well, I was hooked. If you are interested, you might start like I did. I bought Eileen Wright's first book, Twist and Turn Bargello Quilts. There are ten patterns in the book, and at the back is a Bargello placemat. The author has step by step totally understandable instructions for the beginner right there. Once I made that placemat, I was ready to made the Surf Song, which was the pattern I bought the book for.

Try it. It may be something you enjoy. I sure do.

It's beautiful. And that cat in the chair---it's just so interesting to me how cats love their sewing rooms. I have a stray who's came up and now he loves being invited in to quilt.

The colors are beautiful! Can't wait to see it when it's finished. I admire anyone who does a Bargello. I started one a few years ago and it became tedious and not something I was enjoying. Maybe one day I'll bring it back out and try again.

You're trusting your own instincts and have the start of yet another knock-out! Your bargellos have been stunning mostly due to your exquisite fabric choices and eye for color. this one is no exception!!

Wow, thank you so much. You make me feel like I may know what I am doing.... Fabric selection is not easy for me, but I think I am getting better at it.
