Each airline seems to have their own rules ( to a point) the last time we flew I had a small travel kit prepared with English Paper Piecing. A small pair of embroidery scissors ( my stork scissors) pins, needles, thread and prepared pieces all in a plastic snap close box. No problems on 3 airlines, transfers. Then, coming home second transfer they would not let me take my case on the plane! What a pain! Luckily I had plenty of time I wound up having to mail it home. That was 3 years ago and I have heard the rules have ( eased up) some. But, call the airline or check their website to see exactly what you can/ cannot take.

There's a government website that will tell you what's allowed (or not). I think you could Google it...just make sure it's the government website. Sometimes I print the list and take it with me if I think there will be a question. I have often carried needles to cross stitch. They allowed knitting needles in the past. Good luck!
