Wassail! Started making it when 2 of the daughters were involved in Madrigals in high school.

1 gallon apple cider (or apple juice)
    1 quart cranberry juice
1/4 cup red hots or more to taste
    1 orange cut in quarters
    1 - 4 inch cinnamon stick
    2 tsp. whole cloves
    2 tsp. whole alllspice

Tie spices in cheesecloth or use a tea ball. Put all ingredients in large pot or a coffee maker and heat. Stir often till red hots are dissolved.
You can add sugar if you want it to be sweet.

Try warming up a Dr Pepper....we did this years ago when girls were small and enjoyed it. Float a slice of orange or lime in it..

I am a coffee and tea drinker - so I would suggest a variety of different teas. And I am also very fond of hot chocolate - but try to stay away from drinking that much sugar.

Chai Tea Lattes, Hot Chocolate, and Hot Cider are my go-to hot drinks when it's cold outside.
