Check out IKEA.com, they have LED lamps that are super bright & inexpensive, the desk work lamps are approx $10.00, florr lamp $50.00. They have the swivel thingy, you can twist the light part to shine where you need it. Hope that makes sense, can't think how to describe it, the light is on a coiled stem. I have the floor lamp by my easy chair for when I need more light if working on a project while we're watching TV and the desk ones for my sewing machines, I can point the light directly to the needle.

I have had 2 Ott lights. Both were purchased with coupons from JoAnn's. The first one lasted less than 90 days. They did replace it under warranty, but the replacement lasted just over a year. This has been awhile back, but after having 2 quit on me I was not going to buy another. I now use a floor lamp I got at Home Depot and I use a daylight florescent bulb in it. It works just fine and was a lot less money.

I have a floor model and I love it. I also have a desk one too. love both of them. I bought mine from Joann when they were on sale. They are expensive but there are worth it. I feel they will last a long time.

Be patient and wait for either the 50% off sale or when they discontinue a model (best deals are usually on line.) I have two floor models and paid around $100 each for them. Also, check and see if there are any ott bulbs that fit regular sockets.
