I have no open wall or floor space in my sewing room. I do have a small two-door cabinet that sits atop a three-drawer chest. I attached a couple of Command Hooks to the sides of the two-door cabinet, put two grommets into the corners of a piece of fleece, so I could hang the fleece on the cabinet and remove it from one hook to open the doors when necessary. It isn't big, but it works. There is a large design wall at the County Extension Office, that I can use for larger projects; but my small one works for my projects at home. It is, after all, better than nothing.

If I had a larger room, I would still use the Command Hooks and fleece with grommets so I could remove the design wall when not in use.

Your fleece on command hooks sounds very good. This sounds like something I could do, thank you for the idea!
I haven't been on for awhile and have been playing catch up for several pages. I read where some of you are making a flannel star quilt. Could someone direct me to this?

By the way what does a yard of good quality 100% cotton fabric costs there? Here is ranges from 7 to about 12$ a yard.
Oh I wish I really do, but good quality cottons are £12 to £14 here….that's about $18 to $21…..cheap cottons are about £7 or $11 or $12.
If we buy anything more than fq's though, it has to be sold by the metre (40"), so it's a bit of a muddle. If we want a yard and the site (not very many LQS's, lots of on-line shopping though) only sells in multiples of fq's, then it can fair add up in a hurry.

We do get some real bargains though; I picked up some beautiful quality Rose & Hubble for £6 a metre last week There's not anything like as much of a range of patterns and colours though as compared to the myriad of North American companies.

I'm trying to finish quilting what was supposed to be an 'Autumn' coloured quilt, but I missed that and hit 'Hallowe'en bit-on-the-garish side' instead
First time I'd ever tried sewing an entire top together by machine; it's supposed to be easier, quicker, etc., instead it's an exercise in frustration and perseverance.
Ah, we live and learn, but I think I'm going back to hand sewing mine.

Sunrise450 - if you're talking about mine, it is made from the instructions for this mystery.

I'm just doing it with 12 main blocks instead of the six in the instructions and ended up needing 28 plus the 4 corners on the border blocks. Don't know yet about doing additional borders. So far it is approximately 64"x80".
Will see if DS wants it bigger or not.

Almost have it all together, just need to finish assembling my strips. Will post a picture when all done.

Sunrise450, did you mean to show these here on #7 or did you really want to post on #8?
