This is such a great idea that I wonder why I did not think of this at some point. I usually get a workout (more like yoga) while trying to hold the long ruler down while cutting along the long edge. I don't have one of these but I do have hand weights. Thanks for the idea!!!

I sew downstairs, then go upstairs to iron. I go from dining room to kitchen to cut the fabric. I wear a fit bit to monitor my steps and stairs. I think it is a more active passion then knitting. Plus I go to the garage and pantry for my fabric. I wander all over the house in this passion of mine. I am sedentary when I hang out on my computer reading blogs and drinking coffee. I need to get back to quilting.

I miss my chair every once in awhile and end up catching myself doing a squat. Does that count? Because, I tell you it isn't easy pulling my own weight back up. My chair has casters and they're no help! An it ain't pretty!

That was funny, but I do get some exercise when piecing. Due to remodeling not being finished, my ironing board is in the laundry room and my sewing machine on the opposite side of the basement. So, whenever I want to press, I have to get up and walk across the house to the iron. I never thought of it as part of my exercise program, so I guess I can stop griping.
