Incredibly beautiful! I would love to do one of those, but I don't have the patience, I'm afraid...One reason I'm on this board almost every day is to see the wonderful items you all make!

I designed one and entered it into the Texas State Fair, received an honorable mention for it, loved it so much that I made another one. I worked on it for 12 years (from cutting to quilting), mostly because all of the applique was done while caring for my mother through chemo. The memories just got the best of me when I pieced the quilt top together. But once I got it together, I couldn't wait to finish it. I created a stitch (and copyrighted it) called The Waffle Stitch (for the center block) and named the quilt The Rose Window. I started cutting all the pieces out in 1999, and finished the hand-quilting on 4/13/2011 (date of photo).
