I would skip the brown, do a cream border the same width as your red, then another red of that same width. So the border would be red, cream, red. Love the top, just not that brown.

The brown works but the pattern doesn't. I would add a thin cfeam border between the red and brown.

I think it might look great with borders of the light colors that are in your blocks between the red and brown borders..maybe.. your red border is about the same width as the blocks so making the brown border narrower and adding either the white or yellow (or both) in smaller widths might work..what ever you choose I am sure it will be great!

Don't care for the brown. Looks like it was added to make it bigger rather than a planned color design of quilt. That's what my eyes see. My eye goes to the border rather than the beauty of the quilt.

I think it could work but needs a little break between the red and brown because the are somewhat similar tones. What about adding in the hint of the blue/turquoise in a narrow border between them? Then you could bind it in that also and bring out the center's "fun-ness." I think the brown next to the red as is kind of dulls it down, and it's too darling of a quilt to let that happen!

I would go with a lighter color, like the tan looking one in you center blocks , maybe a narrow blue like the fish, then a light brown or tan.

Just out of curiosity - which 2 fabrics did u run out of ??? and how much of the other fabrics do you still have left? Can you get more of those? You just might be able to piece a border next to the red? Then find a more suitable brown for outer border ?? just a thought ! Beautiful quilt top!
