I use a baby food jar with a lid for bent needles and pins--toss it when full. My rotary blades come in plastic containers, so I labeled one "used"--again, toss when full.

I have all sorts of small metal containers. I use them to store good needles and used rotary blades.

I do this with envelopes and just mark "used blades". This way and your way AngeliaNr prevents anyone from cutting themselves if they reach into the waste receptacle for any reason.

Thanks for the chuckle. My warranty is running out also. Might as well laugh about it. Laughing is supposed to be healthy and no added calories!!!

Actually, the gun oil was a great idea. My husband, who repairs machines, uses it all the time because it is also a rust inhibitor.

Great ideas. I just need something I can put my used rotary cutting blades in - any ideas? I really worry about them as they can cut so quickly without noticing at first.

My Dad taught me to cut up old tire tubes for extra large "rubber bands". Just cut them straight across. I use them to keep the covers on those plastic containers from falling off. Also use them to keep my library books together. Not too easy to find anymore.

I also save plastic lids from shortening, oatmeal, etc., as well as the plastic from bacon - I cut smaller templates from these, works great. Love to recycle.
