I use my 1/4" foot all the time. On my 8900 the default setting is a perfect 1/4 inch and piecing is almost perfect. I love my Janome 8900!

I also have to move the needle to get a 1/4 inch and even more if I want a scant.

Love my 1/4 inch foot. I can use it on the 11000 and my old Kenmore. The Kenmore does not allow me to move my needle position, but it works great when sewing Kwiksew patterns for knits that have a 1/4 inch foot.

I have the O2 foot and have to adjust the needle. I like the 1/4" foot but do have to be careful not to slide fabric underneath. Gramie bj -- I think I'll try the nail polish -- needs to be a color I don't have in fabric and there aren't aren't many of those (LOL).

I like mine so well that I ordered two more when I found a deal on Amazon. Now that I have more than one, misplacing the foot is not such a disaster. I have never moved the needle and to tell the truth, didn't know that was possible. froggyintexas

Have you thought of applying some of those neon nail polishes to replace the black?? Just a thought. I love my 1/4" foot that I bought a few years later (they had NOT made one yet!) for my older Bernina.

Why not paint it with nail polish? My Aunt has macular degeneration, and to be able to see the edge of the foot, she painted it with red nail polish.

I like the 1/4" foot too. I do adjust my needle for a scant 1/4" though.

all feet work as well as the sewer lets them. just like your car. if you let go of the steering wheel, the car will drift. The same with your fabric under the needle. you need to help it through by holding it so it doesn't drift to the left or the right.
