Still not home and no machine here. :(

tirnhi, In your spare time of spoiling those babies, you could hand piece a little doll quilt, no machine needed for that. :) :)

Oh no, no, no. Hand sewing is NOT good for me.
Plus, they shut all lights off at night. All lites in the house are overhead lights, no lamps and they keep their house dark ALL the time. I try to keep the kitchen lite on when I'm online, but they insist on shutting it off. I have to keep telling them that the total darkness hurts my eyes when I'm online.
So, trying to get any sort of sewing done is futile....

Being new to all this, I have completed my first doll quilt top and also completed quilting it. I just have to bind it.
My should be in the mail by the end of the week

Well, I tried to console you on how you could make your doll quilt. I'm sure your partner won't mind waiting since you are at an inconvient place to quilt, and spoiling those babies rotton. Do you need me to send you a flashlight? How about getting a miner's hat with the lamp to guide you? How soon do you have to leave?

I'll be fine.
I leave here the 19th and will be reunited with my machine so I can sew, sew, sew. Then once I finish the Jan quilt and the IRRs, I will slowly start to organize (gasp!) and start packing things away. We should start packing out around March and that will be here before we know it.
I am going to run to the thrift stores again today and then over to Sears. I do need more needles for my machine and I will only buy Kenmore brand since I have a Kenmore. I haven't found any other needles that my machine actually likes...she's a bit finicky.

My doll quilt will go out on Monday. Got my quilt from Nancy from Louisiana. Very nice quilt. Will post pictures this weekend. I 'm behind in other thing. Like finding work. Need to get out this next week and really look for some cleaning jobs. Found a great buy at a second hand shop today. two yards and 33 inches of fabric for 3.99.

This is what I sent to Faye... the tag on the back says

"El Dorado County is a varied patchwork.
I hope my quilt conveys the way I feel;
that my home is contemporary yet rustic,
traditional yet funky. The flower in the
center is the state flower, the California
Poppy. Enjoy!"

Finally got my material today. Had the ides for about 2 weeks. Now it means I have to get in my messy sewing room and find a spot to start cutting. I am not one of those that cleaned my room after Christmas. LOL
