Default Just got a Dressmaker SWM-1000 Can you help me?

I just found one of these. It is a Dressmaker SWM-1000. Know anything about this model? Serial number 15456 I bought it. It was $20 can't wait to use it. It sounds awesome! I can't find a lot of info on the machine. I have read that it is a real workhorse but don't know how old it is. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Angie, did you ever find out more about your sewing machine? There's one advertised here in my area, too, so am wondering how you like it?

I just got a dressmaker swm 1000 at a yard sale and it doesn't have a manual. I have searched google and can't find any information on getting one. Do you have an idea where I may find a manual?

You can go to yahoo groups and join the group vintagejapansewingmachines. Once you have been accepted, you can click on their files section and then go through the different manuals and see which one looks most like your machine. They're pretty similar but may not be exact. I think if you download the Dressmaker SWA-2000 manual, it will look a lot like your machine. The difference would be that the 2000 will accept design cams in a door on the top and yours probably does not. Otherwise, it should work for you. Also look for a generic zigzag manual there.

    Good luck.
