I wrecked my big best Fiskar's mat by putting hot iron on it various times...yes dumb, but not thinking, small space, awkward and no place to put iron.

For Sue Sew, Maybe this would be a good time for you to have a look at the iron like Fons & Porter & Jenni Doan use. They rest on pop up feet whenyou set it down.
