I have a Babylock Jane and I love it. I also have a Juki TL98 QE Both straight stitch only, I do have several others.
My daughter has the Brother 1500, straight stitch only. All are wonderful machines.

I agree with you, Jingle. A major objective for me in purchasing another machine was to increase harp space. The BL is now in first place and my Singer 15-91 comes in second place for harp space.

Jane is the machine I use for quilting and heavy duty sewing such as denim. Since May 2014, I have pieced and quilted 5 quilts. ( All the grands are covered!). /
Currently, I am sewing 2 layers of fleece with poly batting for a friend. Jane handles it without a hitch. I have cleaned and oiled her twice since she joined my sewing machine family. FMQ is an accomplishment I hope to successfully achieve using Jane. When I do, that will be MY skill, not that of a stitch regulator or computer driven program. She is definitely a basic straight stitch only machine that delivers a strong performance! I think you will be pleased.

Congrats! I think that would be an awesome machine to have!

He sold me the BL for $30 more than the online Brother price. He also agreed to fix the needle threader (I broke it) on my Brother NX450 at no charge.

I came home and cleaned up my sewing room (again) to make room and I'll start messing with the machine tomorrow.

Sooooo. This makes me a Mommy of......
2 vintage Singers
1 1980's Pfaff
1 1970's Kenmore
1 computerized modern-day Brother
1 mechanical modern-day Babylock

Life is good.

Pudge, How big is the harp on the Singer 15-91?
