Got 2 quilts back from quilters today and sent 2 more down. Have 2 more at home to send but will wait till another day....it gets kind of hard on the budget even though they are VERY reasonable. Don't have anything else started so I think Ill go home and lay out the Boom 14 blocks and see what I come up with!! I was like a kid in a candy store when the lady brought my 2 today...had to almost fight staff to get out to the car with them...seems everyone would "love" a quilt! LOL Only wish I could give everyone a freebie...

The admin wouldn't let me post a picture of a block Im needing help with. Its called Ribbon Star and its part paper piecing (which I cant figure out) and part regular which I can do...I was wondering if anyone can help with a way to make the white/color/color triangles in the block that call for paper piecing? I know its hard to explain but I need a size for the blocks that connect to the black and white triangles...I put the picture in an album in my link below and called it Ribbon Star if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it...Nice looking block out of 100 blocks, 12.5 size.

I have the pattern and can make the b/w triangles and the 2" squares etc but I cant figure out what size to make the block that connects to the b/w triangles....it calls for paper piecing for this block only...the instructions have a 4 1/2 inch paper pattern then 1/4 seam allowance all the way around. Then the next row is a 1" strip, another 1" strip then the little triangle on the end. Im not explaining it very well...heres a picture of the paper piecing pattern. Sorry I cant explain it better. The final block is 12 1/2" finished

It is so nice to see everyone's blocks together.
Seasaw, you go woman and you have lots of support here for your journey.

I think I am going to not participate for awhile also. Learned last week that my Mom has terminal cancer and I will spend time each month to go back to be with her as long as we have. I know so many of you have been through this life stage, I just thought I had a couple more years.

Quilt addict I am so sorry, you are the second person I have heard from this week with a parent diagnosed with cancer. Sending hugs, good thoughts and lots of prayers for you and your family

Joan, this is what I would do. I would take a blank paper lay it down, then lay down two of your paper patterns in proper position over the paper using the paper corner as the corner of the "block" draw the lines on the paper to complete that corner using the paper piece pattern as a guide, then measure and add 1/4 inch seams. (make sure you have removed the seam allowance on your pp pattern or folded it back.

I like to pp so I would likely draw my own pp pattern the same way I described above and make the whole thing pp
