she writes such good instructions in easy to understand language these are much easier to make than I thought they would be. I have 5 of her patterns on my to do list.

I think it should have won first place, as it's a beautiful quilt; but I'm sure your Mom's quilt was beautiful too. We do something slightly different in our family as years ago I started making quilts to be raffled off. My family sends me fabric from my choice for that year and I make a quilt. I'm proud to say that it is a big hit as everyone wants the quilts, which makes me very happy. Because of various health issues in the past 4 years, my oldest niece has graciously taken over quilting the quilt, as she has a long arm quilting machine. She and her husband both quilt and are working on establishing a long arm quilting business when they retire. Again, your quilt is beautiful - you did an excellent job on it. Thanks for sharing.

I think those points and circular motion quilts are simply stunning. I especially love your bright colors. I think your family plan for these reunion expenses is unique and so practical.
