    Thanks Jan!! That is exactly what I was looking for. My blocks I will be making are 6" finished. Should have posted that information. My "quilt" size is 12" x 18" The subunits will be 3" finished.

    Yes, Jan's way is best! I like to make them just a bit over-sized and trim down to the exact size I want.

    The SIMPLE way to make this block is Rhonda's way. (I love all her tutorials). Look for:

    I am making a block at the moment that has 4 of these in it. They all four are to be identical. I followed your tutorial but I got mirror images. Is there a way to make them all the same? The original instructions has you cutting all the 1/4 and !/2 squares and sewing them together.
