Interesting quilt. I love looking at all the different quilting designs. So how wide are the black strips and did you starch the material before you sewed it?

That is simply the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen! I am a FLW fan but have never attempted a FLW quilt.

OMG! This is a FABULOUS quilt. The quilting is perfect and just right for a FLW quilt. If I could do this it would be my crowning glory.

The black lines are 1/4" wide. Yes I starched my fabric before cutting the 3/4" wide strips used to sew into all those seams to achieve 1/4" wide ( leading). If I were to make it again I would probably use the 1/4" fusible quick bias and applique the lines on instead of sewing them into the seams. As I went along I learned lots and thought of things I could have done easier.

The pattern is based on the wall hanging ( Tree of Life) in the book "Quilts In the Tradition of Frank Lloyd Wright " by Jackie Robinson. The wall hanging is 42" X 51" . I redrafted the pattern using graph paper, pencil & a big eraser to create a king sized quilt.

Wow. It is not a design I woulkd have ever even considered, but it is magnificent. It will be the focus of whatever bedroom it is put in. Great quilting job. I will be waiting to see if you can get the whole thing in a photo.
