Default Quilt made in memory of my sister

We had to say goodbye to my sister last September. She was an avid quilter and I admired her ability to piece so precisely and her taste in colors and fabric. She had given me a jellyroll years ago that I could never locate the coordinates for. A few months ago I decided to search again and found everything I needed on eBay. I made this quilt in memory of her. It's her favorite colors. I call it "KJ's Garden" because she loved her flowers too. It hangs in my sewing room and when I see it I think of her and I smile. I highly recommend making memory quilts when you lose a loved one. It's a very healing and comforting process. And btw I got a purple ribbon on it at the fair...pretty sure she's proud!

(Upper left pic is the full view...other 4 are close ups. The pattern is "Emily's Star II)

Lovely thought. Beautiful quilting on a beautiful quilt. You certainly deserved the ribbon.

It's very pretty. I love the colors, too.

You did a beautiful job on this quilt. I am glad you saved the jelly roll you got from your sister. It really made this quilt special. Really like the colors.

That is a beautiful memory quilt. I lost my Dad in March and I am hoping to make wall hangings out of some of his clothing for my sister, brother and I.

Lovely tribute. Snuggling under it will be like a hug from your sister.
