Improvisational? I so agree with Dresi not everyone can do improvisational as well as your quilt demonstrates that you indeed have that 'gift'! I also agree with Jeanne that the secondary pattern keeps the 'eye' dancing back and forth.

Job well done and don't forget to let us know just how delighted your friend is with her surprise gift!

You're quilt is beautiful. I love everything about it. Not sure you want to take my word for it though because I'm proud not be of the "average bear" type.
