Congratulations on your new toy. I started out with a 9" Viking on a Grace Pro frame, moved up to a stretched Juki 18" on the same frame before I finally went to the 26" on a 12' frame. A friend of mine had the stretched Hinty frame and I found it to be a very nice frame and since it uses the conduit poles instead of the aluminum ones the Grace company uses you shouldn't have the issue of the poles bowing on you in time.

Congratulations Belfry! Enjoy your new "toy" (that's what I call my short-arm machine).

That is awesome. I am getting my first long arm this weekend and I can't wait. Unfortunately it will have to be set up in the basement but that is okay. I will make due. Have fun and happy quilting!!!

Good for you. Am sure as you become more comfortable with your new possession, you're going to really enjoy the process. I FMQ with my domestic Janome 6600 Professional. I love doing it, but like you the sandwiching is the most work but I have a pretty good system down for doing it. I also don't do as many "big" quilts anymore so the smaller ones are quite manageable. Have fun with your new toy.

Thank you, all. It certainly is a learning process, but other than having to use premium thread, which my "scotch" soul hates, I'm really enjoying it. I do have to go much slower than I have a tendency to as this machine runs at half the speed of the Brother. But I'm learning it's foibles and am getting better. I do need to figure out a way to get better lighting. I've just ordered a dual book light from amazon that I should be able to stick to the front of the machine and bend the arms to light the stitching area better. I keep accidentally quilting over part since my overhead lights cause a shadow near the top roller. But all in good time.

Here are two pics of the last quilt I did, both front and back. My turns are getting smoother and although I did run too fast at a few places which caused larger stitches, I'm pretty happy with it. My next endeavor, after the light arrives is to work on a twin sized quilt I made for myself. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Congratulations on your new baby. One of these days I hope to have a set up similar to yours. The larger long arms are just way too expensive and really take up a lot of space.

My bailey loved Connecting Threads cotton - and I'd buy it when 30% off so it was very affordable. Right not I'm not decided if my Fusion does not like it, or if I'm still working through other problems. I've got a lot of Connecting thread spools, so it will be a bummer if this new machine prefers something else. I can always use that for piecing, though I've already got more thread than I'll probably use in my lifetime for piecing. I really hate that I may have to stock up on all the colors - again.
