I agree, definitely measure twice and cut once! 😢

Don't use the washing machine to try and clean up all the loose threads before sandwiching and quilting. The washer tears apart the stitching and frays the pieces. I ended up with so many holes I threw the top away. Now, I make sure to cut all the tails as I go.

Not quilting per say, but you might not be able to quilt if this happens. Turn on a light when you go to the bathroom in the middle or the night or you might end up in the bathtub.

Don't have the foot pedal on with the dogs in the room. Sewing machine will start going with help of a furry dog lineing over the foot pedal.

Yes, you can. I've done it. It costs $12. Only downside is you have to wait a month to get them back, but they come back good as new -- sharpened, re-tooled, oiled, cleaned & polished.

I agree with this one. And wanted to add: don't cut your borders at the beginning of a project. And especially, don't randomly decide that the pattern you spent hours & hours creating suddenly has bad math, cut your fabric 10" shorter & then get the thing made only to find you actually were supposed to have it 10" longer.

Not worth the trouble of sending scissors back, I have many pair of Ginghers. Use to get them as stocking stuffers from family members until I said I had more then enough scissors.

Back to that measure twice, cut once, be especially careful of that when using directional fabric.

Make sure your backing is straight with the top when making your sandwich. And then check it again. And yet again. You can't make certain of this alignment too many times.....because when you've quilted it, and find it's just slightly crooked, you will never be able to forget it ....or forgive yourself.
