I 'think' it is a 99 but am not experienced at identifying like you all are.

What a dummy I am, there is the knob on the side Singer 15, not a clone, right

She is clearing out her MIL's house. The good news is all three kids learned to sew on it and one of the daughters is excited to be taking it home.

Singer 15s have the tension on the left side on the face plate. I can't think of any other domestic Singer that has it there. The Singer 15-91 is a 15 with a potted (built in) motor. "Newer" model 15s with reverse have the circular plate around the stitch adjust lever. Older ones with no reverse have a knob that you could move up and down but no round plate.
It took me a while to spot the differences and I've made more than one mistake trying to ID machines. I'm sure I'll make plenty more.

Rodney it takes about a second to see a 15-91. See the grease port under the hand wheel (instead of a belt) in the first pic? When I see a 15, the next thing I look at is whether there is a belt or that grease port. And/or if I can see where the motor is.

Thanks Cari. It is a lot different in that area than the belt driven models. Good way to tell the difference from the front.
