I rarely match my thread to the fabric. You will loose the quilting line on the navy with the blue. It will 'disappear" only to appear on the light background. I usually use something that you can see, but will not take the spotlight. Maybe a grey or darker tan. If you want to see it, red. if you want to not see it, navy

Another vote for beige/tan.

I vote for blue. You have such a pretty print that I'd want it to showcase. Red will overpower the print.

What is your back? That may influence your choice. Perhaps a neutral such as the others mention with tan or grey. But I don't favor the red. Love your print!

I like your rule.

My rule for myself is that if I want my FMQ to show up, I use a thread a couple of shades lighter than the fabric -- so it is visible, but it doesn't dominate. Lighter marking on a darker background is less jarring and more forgiving of the potential skewed stitch here or there.

It will depend on the look you like or are going for. The RED will show. The BLUE will disappear. For me I would use the blue, because my quilting is simple not fancy. Your quilt is very nice.

Don't care for the red at all. I'd go with blue.

Hmm, the navy would be my choice of the two colors. If it were mine I would use a cream color for the blocks. Another option might be a dull gold, star thread has a great one that I often use on scrap quilts.
