I imported and traced the block to EQ7 and converted it to paper piecing. I think that would be much easier. Each diamond is made with three shapes.

    It has set in seams.

I was wondering about the set in seams. Not my favorite. LOL

I am doing this quilt using EPP, as well. I have 1 1/2 inch 60 degree diamond mylar patis, and have divided the longer parallelogram into 2 diamonds. I cut larger diamonds with 3" sides for the spacers from shirt boxes. My quilt will be sized differently, but I didn't want to purchase larger patis, or work entirely with paper and cardboard. I love having an 'on the go' project for in the car, and for sitting in front of the tv at night.

This is a six pointed star. by arranging the colors right you get the white in the middle and the colors on the outside. Kay wood has a video on this and I think you would not have any Y seams. Just make each pointed section separate and join one side together then the other side and sew them together. It is a beautiful quilt.
