I've used my old basic Sidewinder for 4-5 years on my two Pfaffs and a Brother. I also need to place it upside down to wind, but I wouldn't be without it!

What a great idea. I never took mine out of the box.

It won't do the viking because they are done backwards. I think the upgraded version of the bobbin winder will do viking but not sure. It works on my kenmore

I rarely buy myself gadgets -most of them aren't worth the time or money. But, I love this bobbin winder. Silly as it is, I hate to stop, unthread the machine and wind a bobbin. I will usually wind a couple bobbins before starting a project and have the extra sitting on the machine waiting for that last 8" when the bobbin runs out.

I have the Deluxe model and is my "go to" for bobbin winding. Purchased at JAF w/coupon, need to watch as sometimes it is an excluded item listed on the coupon.
fktsewing-Hope this helps---According to the info it will work with: Viking green plastic, Singer Featherweight, Viking groups 2,3, & 4 transparent, Singer transparent 15 J, Singer Class 66 plastic, Singer Class 15 clear, Singer 15 Class metal.
No mention of Kenmore's or the Mega -Quilter.
There are many others listed as well.
I find it works well, one of my better/happier purchases.

My wife and I played the black Friday game a few years ago and got the Deluxe Model at a great price. We both really like it. We use it on Singer class 66, 15 and Feather weight - Swiss Elna - Mercury – Janome – Kenmore – Wards and Pfaff Grand Quilter.

I have the basic and wind bobbins for my Janome Heart and Featherweight. I wouldn't be without it. I don't have a quilting machine (mid-arm or longarm) so I can't answer for winding those bobbins.

Question: how to you add the weight? My basic has a power cord, so I don't see anywhere to pop the bottom off.
