Was asked by a new member what bobbins a 347 takes and I do not know.... does anyone else know right off ?

Thanks Greywuuf. Just cant find the bobbins locally yet. from what Ive read, its a Singer Class 66 Metal Bobbin, prob having to ordering it online, which isnt what I wanted to do, but thats how it goes in the middle of nowheresville,lol....

Edit: Feedback on needles and thread, say 50w cotton thread for coton, twill, and dinum fabics?

I know, the bobbin area needs cleaned, and will be cleaning and oiling the whole machine.

My first project in years, will be a phone/tablet holder for the wife, be able to keep this around her neck, and at proper positing, where's shes wheelchair bound.

It takes the metal Class 66 bobbins. I get mine from Sew-Classic. Jenny's are really nice. You can use the plastic ones but they vary in quality too.
A rule of thumb is: metal bobbin case = metal bobbins; plastic bobbin case like the later ones have = plastic bobbins.

My wife doesn't care, she just uses what ever is handy. Her 538 "should" use plastic bobbins but she's been using both in it since the 70s when she got it. No damage I can see.

I see your assistant is taking a nap on the job . She's so cute.

I find that in wrapping packages and in cutting patterns, a good deal of the time it takes is directly related to "moving the cat"

Was old old dress, all faded, stained, wore out but great fabric. Ill post more pics later on the holder.

And if anyone had feed on needles for the 347?

The Singer 347 takes standard 15x1 or Singer 20-20 needles. Nothing exotic about them.

I use size 14 more than any other size and 90% of my sewing is with Coats & Clarks quilting thread which is equivalent to the old size 50 thread. Some times I'll go up to a size 16 needle if I'm doing heave or really thick stuff.
