I have a 348 and it specifies plastic 66 bobbins in the manual, though metal would probably work too.

I'm not sure where your nowheresville is, but even from my little blip on the map I have access to two thrift stores within three miles of me. Old class 66 bobbins seem to be better than the new ones out of China. Have you found Shopgoodwill.com online? When I google sewing or sewing accessories, bobbins often come up. Just be aware of the price to mail to you.

I have this machine, the first new machine I ever owned. It does take 66 metal bobbin, originally. I have used plastic and they are quieter. This machine is noisy and that is not all so bad. It made the most beautiful satin stitch of any machine I have ever used. For the money, $150, it was a good and serviceable machine. I still have it, but don't use it much any more, but in case of need, rest assured, it will serve again.

Any low shank attachments will work with it.

What Joe said. He is absolutely correct. This is a very forgiving machine too. It will work for you with little fuss.

I was pretty dern happy when the 347 was just given too me, after commenting to that former neighbor friend that Id been wanting and kind of looking for an older well built simple machine.

Ive read through the manual once, and need to go through it once more. Im only in my 40's but I just love the older well built machines, this 347 reminds me that old Chevy 327 "Hahaha!" Looking forward to learning to make the custom clothing for me and the wife "to start" with my Fibero and wife being in a chair, going to be nice for her to fin get what she needs, to make her daily less pain in the butt......

Do you have a Walmart in Ark? lol They should have some 66 bobbins. I would love to see your finished project as well. Hope you get her sewing really soon.

If you'll at the vertical hook gear there, that be metal, not nylon !
I did get to order parts form SingerOnline out of Cleveland, Ray talked to me on the phone for a good bit, and Linda replyed to my emails "I hate when dummies dont read before they reply!" Nice to see some still do things the old fashioned ways, singeronline.com/info.html I think they got a Facebook page for those who do FB...

And if anyone knows where I can get some real RipStop brown'ish & blue'ish fabric online, please post ur thoughts?

Ill post more pics, once I get some more TLC on my 347'
