This quilt is absolutely gorgeous.Who every made the quilt did such a wonderful job with the color and pattern. The cutting and sewing together was done by a true master to this craft.
You should be proud of your part also. The quilting is outstanding. Who ever picked the design of the quilting made this quilt knock out gorgeous. I sure hope this lovely quilt get a place of honor in the home it will be going to.

I agree with the triple wow! You brought out all the beauty in this piece. Several years back, I was given an antique hand made top with major problems, but a lot of beauty. Right about then I had a chance to ask a qualified appraiser if it would make any difference to the value of the quilt if it were machine or hand quilted. She agreed with me about the beauty and said that the quilting method would not matter to the value, only the quality of that quilting.

What a wonderful gift for that mother!

What a reward for all of your efforts! You rescue is beautiful. I am first amazed at the beauty of the original quilt. I appreciate the fact that you did your utmost to keep as much of the originality as possible. There was a reason that the quilt was a long time UFO. Your modern machine quilting is wonderful and truly wed the old with the new. Truly, you are to be commended.

I don't think hand quilting would have looked as nice on this.I thinkeven the purist would agree that this was the only way.

I think you have done a fantastic job. I love to see hand quilting but also know that FMQ of this nature does take a very long time. Love the quilt.
