Oh my, Kate and Krista your alternative colors turned out Fabulous!!! I still have to get my last outer border sewn on---a lot of other stuff has kept me out of the sewing room lately. I did order my backing fabric yesterday though, I decided on a red and while toile print. Hope it looks ok!

I'm just now starting this mystery. Still cutting the HST for Step !. Wow, so many of them but I'm using up a lot of my scraps so I'm happy on that note. I decided to make it wider for a queen size bed so hopefully it will turn out around 103 x 97 if I figured it correctly. Using mostly from my scrap piles with only a few extra strips from folded fabrics. Of course the grey came from the folded stash. Already drawn the name of who gets this quilt when I'm done.

By chance has anyone quilted theirs yet and if so how did you quilt it? I have a long time before I have to really get serious about the quilting part but always like to keep my eyes open for idea.

Snooze, just pace yourself. Some of the clues have many, many pieces and units to make. They take time. Mine is still in stacks... so much left to do to put all those units into blocks, and then the blocks into a quilt top. Little by little...

I'm nearly finished with the sashing!

Snooze, this is my 5th mystery. #1 and 2 are a double sided quilt, as is #3 and 4. The easy street one I had my long armer do a baptist fan and the next set I had her do something called Inca. The quilts are busy and I find using something without a pattern, muddies up both the quilt and the quilting. So for all my busy quilts, I choose patterns.

Kalama, are you saying busy quilt = busy pattern. Or ar you saying something like a soft meander wouldn't be as nice as a repeating pattern? I'm planning on FMQing on my own machine so am following all the advice of others on what to do.
