Default Dye Lots and Jelly Rolls

Let me explain what I am trying to do.

I am thinking of taking a class to make the Binding Tool Quilt (Missouri Star Quilt Company). It requires 2 jelly rolls. I only have 1 of course.

Is there a difference in dye lots in buying jelly rolls, like buying yarn? The dealer I bought it from here no longer has it, but I have found it at other dealers online.

    Thanks,

    Lynda

If there is a slight difference you probably would never notice it on a finished quilt.

Thank you. That is my dog, Java, the German Shorthaired Pointer who is lying on the couch next to me as I type this. He is a little over 6 years and still very much a puppy. My avatar photo was taken the day we met Java when he was 5 or 6 weeks old and he stole a piece of my heart.

From what I understand, the batik jelly rolls from major fabric companies are cut at one time so since fabric is normally produced on 50 yard bolts, I would say most like will be from the same dye lot. I doubt if there is a difference that you won't see it in your quilt.

If you are talking about RK Kona cotton, there could be a difference since they keep reproducing the same color over and over again and their can be a variance with the same color.
