Boomerang Swap 16 - Sign-Ups Open

I will be watching everyone's block this time to see if I can join next time. I do have a few questions. The blocks I make look very different from the one's I've viewed. I do a lot of raw edge applique using steam a seam. Would this be ok in a boom? The applique I've done for bed quilts has held up very well. I also usually do embellishments on the quilts. Is this something that should be avoided? The pieced blocks I do make are usually pretty modern, wonky log cabin blocks etc. I am too weird for a boom?

Off topic- how's everyone making it through this storm? We had a doozy of a storm go through here yesterday. My satellite dish is laying flat on the ground, so no TV here. I mainly use the TV for noise since I live alone. Hard to sleep with dead silence except for that howling wind. I have limbs down all over the yard. Some of the roads are closed with trees down across them. It's heading north, so beware. One person killed by falling trees where my sister-in-law lives in SC. Lots of people with no power. Mine keeps blinking off and on. I know there's a tree on it somewhere. Be safe y'all. I hate tornadoes.
Probably going to get booed right on out of here but another day of 80+ degrees here just like the last almost three weeks we always get a few warm day in February but this has been above and beyond.
Libster and those of you dealing with weather be safe and stay warm and dry.

I like to receive applique blocks also. I would ask though for a couple things... that even with raw edges that the edge be stitched down in some manner to avoid any "lifting" . Shaggy looking is fine with me.
Embellishments.... if you mean like buttons, bows or 3D items... they can be difficult to quilt around for some folks. You can ways send them with in a baggie and the final person could add them after the quilt is finished.
Weird... no, I don't think weird would exclude you by any means...we open our arms to weird
Lots of wind in Western Kentucky ... had BIG snowflakes yesterday after it rained for several hours and then it went back to rain. Now this weekend they forcast in the 60's ... Love (yeah right) the seasons changing within 1 day.

The 10" squares I usually by are from Missouri Star Quilt. THey have a daily special and its usually about 50% off.
I have 3-4 different kinds of 10" squares that I haven't figured out what to do with yet! I love that quilt you posted!

Hi all, It has been a while since I was part of a boom and I am looking forward to seeing all the beautiful blocks that will be coming my way. I finally was able to get out and get my fabric- kind of a minty green batik- it's now in the prewash process.

Reminder! Sign-ups close 2/29
For anyone still contemplating joining, please remember sign-ups close at 11:59 pm EST on Monday. There are just a couple of spaces left in the three month group but I can take up to ten more in the two month group. If you are fence sitting, particularly about the three month group, now's the time to decide.
Thanks!
Thanks!

mjpEncinitas- I would LOVE to receive a block like this. (Hint, hint- hurry up and join us!) Love this applique block!
I have used steam a seam light and so far it's held up very well. I don't know if I'd want to use it for a child's quilt because it would have to be washed so much more often. Do you secure the edges with stitching? I can't tell from the picture. If the edges are secured, it should do great for a child too.
