How beautiful! I so enjoy seeing both hand quilting and machine quilting in the same piece. Old techniques with the new works so well together. What a lovely art piece.

Stunning! You can tell you had so much fun quilting this, it shows! As someone who loves to embroider blocks for quilts I am so pleased to see how you quilted it, I have a top done and had taken it to a local long armer who felt she couldn't do it justice, but now I have some ideas and could possible work on mine in a similar way. You have inspired me!!

Both of you really should take pride in this piece, it's beautiful.

You did an excellent job with quilting this difficult quilt!

My sister bought the entire kit to make this, but I fear that she will never be able to finish as she has come down with Parkinson's. Pity too, because her husband is a mechanic. I thank you for showing some nice closeups of this one.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister! Perhaps you could find someone to help with the project. There are lots of different blocks, and if a group broke them up and everyone just embroidered one block you could piece it relatively quickly. I know she would love it --- and her hubby would too!

Gorgeous quilt and quilting! Your incorporation of the Route 66 sign is fantastic and a real compliment to the quilt.
