I have had my Fiskars since the 70's and they are still being used. I also have Ginghers (but they are too heavy and awkard for my small hands. I really like my soft-grips Fiskars that I purchased in the 80's or early 90's.

I have used Gingher, Wiss, Fiskars and Kai and Kai is the best. I cut a lot of fleece and those scissors are like a hot knife slicing through butter and melting it as you go. You can buy them on ebay for under $20 or use a guy called The Scissorman and buy them from him. Buy what you are comfortable with and using, but scissors are an investment, and will last, last and possibly outlive you.

I have Gingher, Kia, Fiskars, but hand down, the best I have found are the Bordeaux. I found several sizes at Tuesday Morning a few years ago at a very reasonable price, but I would have purchased them no matter what the price. You can find them at Nancy Notions and many other places. They are made by Clover. using them is like cutting through butter.
