Default Husqvarna Sapphire 930Q

Hi Guys,

Does anybody have this machine.... if so, how is it on piecing and quilting???

Thinking about adding this one to my stable - LOL.

Hugs

Caroline

I have an older sapphire, 875 quilt. It is the most expensive machine I own and I have hated it and almost never use it. Hope the newer models act better. It's jerky, picky, doesn't sew smoothly. When my sisters machine broke I sent it to her, she tried it and promptly sent it back.

I also used one at a day class. It was fantastic at piecing and free motion saving up to buy one.

My friend has a Husqvarna Sapphire, not sure the model number and she is very pleased with it. I have sewn twice on it but I prefer my Bernina 1530 since I have been sewing on her for over a couple of decades.

I have an older Husqvarna Platinum 950 and love it. As many bells and whistles as I wanted. I don't machine quilt so can't offer an opinion on that aspect but it pieces beautifully. Sews just about anything I have thrown at it except the canvas boat cover binding. Probably just needed a bigger needle for that one!

Love my Sapphire. I have the 870. Bought it a few years ago on eBay. Paid $900. Absolutely love it! There was a learning curve as far as free motion, but I've got it down! Pieces beautifully, has a really nice stitch.

My sewing buddy has it and just LOVES it! She uses it more than her Viking Diamond (was top of the line machine).

I have a Sapphire 960q and love it. Upgraded about a year ago from the 830. It was not as easy to use on fmq. Had problems from beginning but love the new one. If you can, purchase it at a close dealer for lessons. (Mine is about an hour away) Tried fmq and liked it. Still learning but the decorative stitches are fun. If you want more, you can pm me.

I love both my sapphire machines a 960 and an 875. I sold my 830 to upgrade. If a machine is not sewing correctly it may need the timing fixed. Bring it to a reputable dealer and get it fixed. I love the touch of the pedal up and down. I love the winding a bobbin from the threaded machine.I love the lighting. Take classes and learn what the machine can do. Enjoy!
